Sunday, October 04, 2020

October 2. 2020. Eight girl-children are rescued in India. They had been sold by three slave traders for 50,000 rupees each to wealthy families in Tadepalli, Dolas Nagar and other places. They worked for their owners as unpaid domestic servants. They only received food and a place to sleep. The owners refused to let them return to their parents. One of them, a 13 year old girl, eventually escaped and telephoned the police. The police raided seven houses and rescued the girl-children from their owners. The police have now arrested the three alleged slave traders: Karappu Asiraiah alias Chiranjeevi, Vempada Padalu alias Srinu and Khambham Ramu, all from Chillapetarajam village in Srikakulam.
